This happened recently, and tripped up the mod who reviewed the flags. Can Markdown be prevented from linkifying text which is itself a complete, and different url? I mean, it's just amending a regex, how hard could it be?

This seems like it should be on meta.se instead of just meta.arqade – GodEmperorDune Jun 16 '16 at 21:13
  • The difficulty is inverse to the estimated difficulty of the layman. – Frank Jun 16 '16 at 21:14

@GodEmperorDune It doesn't matter, all meta feature requests are processed. – fredley Jun 16 '16 at 21:33

"How hard could it be" ~ Famous last words – Wipqozn Jun 16 '16 at 21:35
  • @fredley Yes, but on Meta.SE your feature-request is more likely to be processed faster since it has greater visibility – angussidney Jun 17 '16 at 7:15
  • @angussidney There's a post explaining how this isn't the case somewhere, but I can't find it. I'd wager that given the complexity of doing it (it's just adding a few characters to a regex! How hard could it be?) and the minimal benefit, it's unlikely to happen anyway :P – fredley Jun 17 '16 at 7:32
  • @fredley See the kbd style question. 3 years and I had to chase up one of the devs on Meta.SE – Robotnik Jun 21 '16 at 10:19
