I'm in full support of including the photo widget here on meta, as long as screenshot-of-the-week continues to be consistent for the foreseeable future. If screenshot of the week becomes inconsistent, intermittent, or people stop participating, I'd propose that the widget eventually be removed.

I suspect a lot of the problem is that there are lots of ways now for people to get answers to their gaming questions and they often find these places before they find us. For example, I'm playing the new Paper Mario game, and I have asked a few questions about it here, but to be honest, for most of it, it's easier to just Google for a walkthrough and use ...

world-of-warcraft-classic would be the appropriate tag, given the circumstances. The base game has diverged significantly since the September 2006 version, and it will be easier to treat it as completely separate version. There might be some overlap, but it's not worth muddying the main game tag with questions that don't apply to it.

Abso-lutely. Mods are perfectly acceptable as an answer in pretty much every use case, and in situations like this, where they might be the only solution, they're all the more appropriate.

I started sekiro-shadows-die-twice last week, and I've been hiding from local wildlife since then.

I'm in favor of this. If we clean up without addressing the underlying source of these tags then Arqade members & moderators will have to continually retag these posts. It'd be a lot easier to blacklist the Minecraft tag now while there are only one or two currently than allow their numbers to slowly creep back up.

In general, asking about built-in cheat codes is fine for single-player games. But not cheats for multiplayer games (not that many multiplayer games have built-in cheats). If the (single-player) game requires mods to cheat, it is probably a better idea to ask something like "how to do I get unlimited money in [game]?" and allow the answers to suggest mods, ...

I think this question is fine. This is a question that primarily: Points to an in-game thing Assumes it's some sort of reference, nod, in-joke or easter egg Asks what that thing is, or what the reference/in-joke is I personally call this an 'Easter Egg' question, and we have plenty of examples of this type of thing being perfectly on topic as you've found....

So I have a screenshot of the same system as Unionhawk is in, but from the tourist destination aptly named The View. I took this screenshot during the community event Distant Worlds 2 of elite-dangerous. No editing done to this screenshot, the planet really looks like that.

This is me vs. three enemy fighters in war-thunder. I had just taken out the German fighter on the far right and started on the Swiss plane on the far left. That's when the Japanese fighter took out my tail control so I couldn't dodge. He came in too fast, over shot me, took out his teammate, and guaranteed nobody made it out alive. A fraction of a second ...

If a developer designed a cheat to exist, then yes, that is absolutely on topic. This includes modding capabilities - if the game supports mods, then most questions in this realm are okay here. If a developer did not design a cheat to exist, or if a game is not supposed to support mods but they exist anyway, then it might step into the realm of illegal ...

Some late entries: A 'standard' ad, in white and black: (The explosion graphic can be worked into the black version, as well) For Movies.SE: (Not sure if these are recognizable. I have a version where Bill Murray's face is more pronounced.) For StackOverflow: (I know, humour is not my strong suit.)

zelda-links-awakening-2019 makes the most sense to me. HD isn't really accurate, since it's a full blown remake, not just a remaster or textures upgrades. A new tag is definitely needed, since there's some new content (more seashells, the chamber dungeons) and the "physics" are different enough that some new strategies are present (most notable, you can now ...

How about a Screenshot of the Week? I just noticed the Photo of the Week on Photography SE. I assume this will be easy to implement as it has already been integrated there. While not really an event, it will help build "a feeling of belonging to a community and encourage participation". A corresponding Hall of Fame (similar to the one Photo.SE) will ...
