Refers to the process of purging/deleting tags that do not fit the sites scope.
Rarely, tags get created (and often posts use said tags) that don't fit the sites scope. Usually these tags get created and overtime as the communities viewpoint towards certain topics change, these tags become obsolete. The process of burnination is to purge and delete these tags.
