I was thinking should we add the game title tag to successfully answered tagged questions?

For example, I would add to https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/30588/platformer-blue-and-red-mechanic, and to https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/30443/searching-for-a-ps2-game-set-in-the-early-1900s.

Many questions will be the only question about that game, and the tag will end up deleted for lack of use.

  • I agree. If you already know the game's title, finding its identify-this-game post wouldn't be much use. – Joe Dovahkiin Sep 18 '11 at 12:27

And when it's not the only question about the game? – Matthew Read Sep 18 '11 at 16:21
  • @Matthew, are there currently any questions like that? There are already 270 ITGs with accepted answers ... that is a lot of manual tagging to provide a marginal benefit, and it could lead to a long cycle of retagging if we establish it as a policy. – Dave DuPlantis Sep 21 '11 at 1:30
  • @Dave Sure, spelling-jungle for example. I don't think the initial effort is a problem (I'd be happy to do it myself incrementally), if it was then there are a whole lot of tagging changes we'd never have done. – Matthew Read Sep 21 '11 at 1:35
