All sort of posts on all sorts of topics have been closed and deleted because the particular question was deemed to be unanswerable. Individual questions about developer intent can still be closed if that particular question is judged too broad or a matter of opinion. Just like we do with questions about game mechanics. We don't ban questions about character classes just because sometimes people ask which class is the best. We don't have to throw out the baby with the bathwater. | |

If there was then there should be a post on meta here that someone can point to where a consensus formed that this was a problem that needed to be fixed. Instead all I've ever seen justifying it is speculation that it would be a problem if allowed. | |
